Serenity Program
Serenity Program for hospice patients and the terminally ill
The Serenity Program allows patients, families and health care providers to know with certainty if a donor meets current research criteria before or at the time of passing.
How Does the Serenity Program Work?
- The patient must be under hospice care or given a terminally ill diagnosis or have passed within the last 72 hours. Donors deceased longer than 72 hours will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- The patient, family, or health care provider may initiate the process by contacting our office at 817-304-3763. A screening process will be performed by our staff to determine if the patient meets criteria for current research or training programs.
- Once a determination has been made, we will work with the legal next of kin and/or health care provider to complete the donation paperwork. This drastically reduces the process for the next of kin and health care provider at the time of the patient’s passing.
- At the time of passing, our staff will need to be contacted at 817-304-3763 to notify us of the donors passing.
