HSC Explore Program

The HSC Explore Program is a 5-week summer research internship for high school students. HSC Explore interns are matched with a faculty mentor, receive hands-on experience with biomedical sciences research, and have chance to learn more about career opportunities in the biomedical sciences.

Information for Student Applicants

High school students interested in participating in the 2023 HSC Explore program can apply here.

 

Student requirements

  • High school enrollment in Fall 2023 (10-12th grade standing preferred).
  • Preference for enrollment in a Fort Worth ISD high school.
  • Students from underrepresented populations are encouraged to apply.

 

Program details

  • HSC Explore Interns will be matched with a HSC Faculty Mentor to receive hands-on training in biomedical sciences research.
  • The 2023 HSC Program runs from June 5 to July 14, 2023. Interns are expected to complete a minimum of 5 weeks (weeks do not have to be consecutive), up to 8 hours a day of research on the HSC campus. Interns may discuss the details of their schedule with the HSC Explore Program Coordinator and their Faculty Mentor at the program orientation.
  • Interns are expected to attend a program orientation on June 5, and a HSC Summer Research Internship Programs Day poster session on July 14.
