Workshop Series
Canvas Clinic is a multi-session workshop dedicated to covering the main features of Canvas beginning in September and continuing through March. In each session, the Division of Academic Innovation (DAI) covers the basic and intermediate details of Canvas features. Participants who attend (in-person only) 9 or more of the 13 sessions will receive a Canvas Clinic badge and certificate. Enroll here for Canvas Clinic course. AHSE is a monthly workshop series dedicated to best practices in learning and education in the health sciences. AHSE will encourage all faculty to develop in themselves and in their colleagues’ excellence in facilitating learning at all stages of education from classrooms and labs to practice and research. The AHSE will foster a culture of educational excellence that values diversity. Continuing education credits can be claimed for attendance at many of our AHSE sessions. AHSE sessions will be posted on the DAI Events Calendar.
The AME is a year-round, weekly, 2-hour, Wednesday morning dedicated workshop series for faculty and staff that teach in the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences at UNT Health Science Center. Topics for each session are identified by an internal needs assessment and emphasize best practices in medical education. Continuing education credits can be claimed for attendance at many of our AME sessions. AME sessions are held from 8-10 a.m. in LIB 400 of the Gibson D. Lewis Health Science Library.
Self-paced Courses
Preparing to Teach Online (PTTO) is a self-paced, required training for faculty teaching online for the first time as per the UNTHSC Distance Education Policy. Starting from September 10th, 2021, participants can claim continuing education credit after completing all the assessments and meeting the minimum requirement of this course. This course is a required training for teaching assistants at UNT Health Science Center that trains and prepares them for the experience of being a TA.
