Suicide Prevention Program

The Office of Care and Civility collaborates with The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation to offer Suicide Prevention Training – Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) on our campus. We incorporate QPR training into our Suicide Prevention Week. If you would like to request a QPR training on campus, please complete this form, and one of our presenters will reach out to you to confirm the details of the presentation. Effective September 1, 2015, Texas Senate Bill Number 1624 stated all incoming students must be provided information regarding mental health and suicide prevention services at institutions of higher education. Senate Bill 1624 requires HSC to provide:

(1) available mental health and suicide prevention services offered by HSC or by any associated organizations or programs; and

(2) early warning signs that are often present in and appropriate intervention for a person who may be considering suicide
