Osteopathic Scholars in Cancer Research (OSCR)
Osteopathic Scholars in Cancer Research (OSCR) is one of the program components of the HSC Scholars in Cancer Research Program offered to DO/PhD dual degree students. The College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences participates with the Texas College of Osteopathic for this dual degree program. Typically DO/PhD program takes 6-7 years to complete. OSCR supports the students of Osteopathic Medicine conducting research during their PhD in the areas related to cancer for obtaining their DO/PhD. Under this program 2 students will be recruited each year.
OSCR scholars will have the opportunity to participate in workshops/ training programs on responsible conduct of research, experimental design, inter-professional education and health disparities.
Application Process:
- Candidates can opt for the dual degree program during application process. Existing first and second year students can apply by February 15th and the selected candidates will be notified in March.
