Dr. Laszlo Prokai receives Fulbright Specialist Award to share glaucoma expertise in Hungary

Laszlo ProkaiLaszlo Prokai, PhD, has received a Fulbright Specialist Award to share his expertise on drug discovery and design with researchers and students at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary.   

The Robert A. Welch Chair in Biochemistry and professor of Pharmacology and Neuroscience at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences is an expert in discovery and preclinical development of new therapies against neurodegenerative and ophthalmic diseases as well as mass spectrometry and proteomics. He will spend six-weeks teaching a didactic course in Semmelweis University’s PhD program and sharing his knowledge of glaucoma with researchers to enhance their research skills and foster collaborations. Founded in 1769, Semmelweis University was named one of the world’s top 250 universities and the highest ranked Hungarian university on the Times Higher Education 2023 World University Rankings.
