Q&A with Robyn Kovacs, Assistant Professor, MS Clinical Nutrition Program

September 4, 2024 • CHP Highlights

Robyn KovacsWhat drew you to HSC and why did you accept a faculty position here?

After previously teaching Nutrition for many years, I pivoted and re-entered the clinical world as a Dietitian working directly with patients for a few years. Although, I did enjoy my role providing nutrition therapy to patients, I made it my goal to find a way to return to education. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to work for UNT HSC and have already loved every minute so far!

Starting out as a new faculty member at HSC, what are your goals and what do you hope to accomplish during your time here?

As a founding member of the brand-new Clinical Nutrition team, I’m looking forward to helping to develop a strong coordinated program that will have a positive impact on our students and on the future of the nutrition profession.

What is something you would like for students or fellow faculty members to know about you?

I am a proud mom of 2 exceptional teenage daughters who inspire me every day to be a better person.  My favorite thing to do is anything and everything that they are interested in that we can do together – sports, theater, swimming, movies, and of course shopping!

What are you reading, watching or listening to right now?

It varies week to week- I watch whatever my husband and I find on Netflix that seems appealing, but I usually only see about 20-30 minutes before I fall asleep on the couch.  My poor husband has had to re-watch many episodes of shows for me 😊.
