The application period for our spring 2025 RN to BSN and traditional RN programs is now open. Applications for fall 2025 enrollment for all of our programs opens Nov. 1, 2024.
Undergraduate Programs
Traditional BSN
- 20-month on-campus undergraduate program
- Students complete two years of pre-requisite courses at a university or community college prior to admission to the HSC program.
- Once enrolled at HSC’s College of Nursing, students will take focused courses along with hands-on clinical experiences to earn their BSN.
RN to BSN Degree Program
- For registered nurses with an associate degree who want to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
- Flexible program to accommodate busy professional and personal schedules.
- Online didactic coursework with occasional immersive clinical experiences provided at HSC’s on-campus Simulation Lab.
- In-person clinical components through HSC’s established affiliation agreements with hospitals, clinics, and nontraditional health care facilities.
- Students can complete the required 30 credit hours in two, three, or four semesters.
Graduate Programs
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
- 47-credit-hour, MSN program for nurses with a BSN who want to become a mental health nurse practitioner.
- Students may opt for full-time program, completing the program in six semesters.
- A part-time option is also available, extending the program to eight semesters.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Practice Innovation Online Degree Program
- HSC’s Master of Science in Nursing Practice Innovation is a first-of-its-kind program in Texas.
- We’re developing nurse leaders and innovators who will be on the forefront of solving health care’s biggest challenges.
- Incorporates five, 16-week-long semesters and condensed 12-week summer semesters.
- Curriculum includes four specialized elective courses.
- Part-time option extends the program into seven semesters.
- Learners can pursue certification aligned with their chosen area of specialization.
Graduate Certificates and Microcredential
HSC’s graduate-level certificates and microcredential provide advanced knowledge and skills in the following specialized areas:

- Correctional Health Certificate

- iTEACH for Nursing Education Microcredential
The RN and MSN at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth are pursuing initial accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (www.ccneaccreditation.org). Applying for accreditation does not guarantee that accreditation will be granted.
