Associate Professor of Pharmacotherapy
Education & Experience:
I graduated from University of Maryland School of Pharmacy with my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree. I completed my PGY-1 residency at West Virginia University Medicine, and my PGY-2 residency with a focus in internal medicine/pulmonary medicine at the University of Utah Health. I joined the UNT System College of Pharmacy faculty in August 2017.
Teaching Areas & Interests:
During my residency, I received a teaching certificate from West Virginia University Medicine, served as an adjunct professor, and completed a 5-week rotation in academia. While at the University of Utah Health, I coordinated the geriatrics therapeutics module and participated regularly in OSCEs and recitations. My experiences include didactic and small group lectures including team-based-learning formats, laboratory facilitations and recitations, and mentorship of P4 pharmacy students. Currently, I am teaching in the Respiratory/GI IPT, the Renal IPT, and Endocrine IPT courses. I am passionate about pharmacy education and look forward to the many opportunities available at the UNT System College of Pharmacy.
Professional Activities & Awards:
I am a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP), Metroplex Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP), Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, and Alpha Zeta Omega pharmaceutical fraternity.
Scholarly Interests:
My primary interest is geriatric medicine, and I hope to expand and collaborate with providers on research endeavors in this particular area. My passion for pharmacy education also drives my interest in team-based learning and innovative technology in the classroom.
