Education & Experience:
I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed the PGY1 Community-Based and PGY2 Ambulatory Care Residency Programs from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in Jackson, Mississippi. My post-graduate training focused on incorporating student pharmacists into a variety of ambulatory care practice sites managing many chronic diseases such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus, clotting disorders, heart failure, and cystic fibrosis. Following residency, I moved from Mississippi to Texas to join the Pharmacotherapy Department at HSC College of Pharmacy.

My clinical interests include chronic disease management with a focus in reducing healthcare disparities and improving community knowledge of healthy diet and exercise. Academically, I’m extremely passionate about personal professional development and creating trustworthy, inclusive relationships with student pharmacists.
Professional Activities & Awards:
I currently serve as a clinical ambulatory care pharmacist at Baylor Community Care Clinic in Fort Worth. Within this role, I provide chronic disease management for patients with diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, and I offer anticoagulation, transitions of care, and smoking cessation services.
My active memberships include American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Mississippi and Texas affiliates (MCHP and TSHP), American Pharmacist Association (APhA), Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA), Delta Gamma (DG) fraternity, and Phi Delta Chi (PDC) pharmacy fraternity. I serve as a manuscript reviewer for the ACCP peer-reviewed medical journal Pharmacotherapy, and I am on the development team for the PharmacyForward Podcast. I have also earned a Teaching & Learning Certificate (TLC) and micro-credentials as a Diversity & Inclusion Champion.
Scholarly Interests:
My clinical scholarly interests include reducing healthcare disparities, improving medication access and affordability, and prioritizing healthy diet and exercise. I’m also extremely interested in scholarship of teaching and learning and aim to improve the clinical learning experience to better fit real-world scenarios.
