Meet Taylor Benavides, PharmD, and internal medicine pharmacist and Assistant Professor of Pharmacotherapy. With clinical and research interests in infectious diseases and cardiology, Dr. Benavides practices at Medical City Arlington. As a pharmacist in the hospital setting, he truly enjoys making an impact on patient care directly.

What will you be doing in your role at UNTHSC and your practice site?
I will be teaching in a number of courses throughout the College of Pharmacy curricula. At Medical City Arlington, I serve as a preceptor to pharmacy students and aid in the care of patients on my internal medicine service.
I am also a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), Phi Delta Chi pharmacy fraternity, and the National Hispanic Pharmacists Association.
Why did you choose pharmacy as a profession?
I chose pharmacy because of the profound impact pharmacists can have on patients’ lives.
What do you enjoy most about being a pharmacist?
I love that no two days in pharmacy practice are the same and with that come unique opportunities to learn something new!
Fun fact:
I am an avid Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks fan and love spending time with my wife and my two kids.
