Education and Experience:
I received my Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, Texas in 2018. Upon graduating, I completed a PGY1 Pharmacy residency at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas and a PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency with Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas. Upon completion of my postgraduate training, I worked as an inpatient pharmacy manager at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas prior to returning to my alma mater in June 2022.
During my two years of residency training, I gained experience in internal medicine, critical care, clinical research, quality improvement, medication safety, clinical management, operational management, health-system leadership and administration.
I am currently pursuing a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree from Louisiana State University – Shreveport with an expected graduation in December 2022.
Teaching Areas and Interests:
During my postgraduate training, I completed a teaching certificate from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy and participated in didactic lectures and clinical skills labs. As a pharmacist, I have precepted pharmacy students and residents in hospital, management, and leadership rotations.
Professional Activities and Awards:
I am a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and am involved in numerous organizations including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists (TSHP), Metroplex Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP), Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) Pharmacy Leadership Society, Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society, and Phi Delta Chi (PDC) Pharmacy Professional Fraternity.
In the Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists, I have served on the Research & Education (R&E) Foundation Scholarship Review Committee, APCE Review Committee, and the Professional Affairs Council.
Scholarly Interests:
My primary professional interests include leadership development, health-system management and leadership, personal development, and medication safety. I am also interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly as it relates to improving the experiential education experience.
