Assistant Professor of Pharmacotherapy
Education & Experience:
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Following graduation, I completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the Veterans’ Affairs St. Louis Health Care System in St. Louis, MO and PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy in Richmond, VA. I joined the HCS College of Pharmacy faculty in August 2022.
Teaching Areas & Interests:
I completed a teaching certificate program at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. During my time at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy, I delivered lectures, facilitated small group labs, and precepted pharmacy students and residents in ambulatory care rotations.
In the fall, I teach in the pharmacokinetics and personalized medicine courses. In the spring, I teach in neurology and communications courses, and I will serve as an ambulatory care preceptor for APPE students.
Professional Activities & Awards:
I am a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP). At HSC, I serve as an advisor for the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists (SSHP).
Scholarly Interests:
My primary interest is optimizing pharmacist interventions in chronic disease state management, especially in uninsured and underinsured populations. I am also interested in the utilization of innovative techniques in teaching to improve student engagement and outcomes as well as the effects of community engagement within the curriculum on patient care. My research thus far has focused on the impact of technology on diabetes management.
