Assistant Professor of Pharmacotherapy
Education & Experience:
I graduated with my Pharm.D. degree with a Leadership Emphasis from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. I then completed a PGY-1/PGY-2 Pharmacotherapy Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy. During my residency I gained experience in internal medicine, family medicine, critical care, ambulatory care, mental health, and teaching.
Teaching Areas & Interests:
During my residency I received a teaching certificate through TTUHSC Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy and gained experience teaching in many formats including experiential precepting, small group facilitation, lab facilitation, and didactic teaching. I’m interested in teaching students in innovative ways that ensure not only understanding of material but also student engagement.
Professional Activities & Awards:
I am a member of American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) & I’m a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
Scholarly Interests:
My research interests include improving patient care, innovation in the classroom and/or clinical setting, and mental health. My previous research focused on provider concordance to guideline based therapy in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and the impact of a pharmacist-initiated spirometry clinic.
