CPH PhD job placements score big in 2022

The HSC College of Public Health is making significant strides in preparing academic leaders for careers in higher education and research.
This year, six CPH students are celebrating prestigious postdoctoral research fellowship placements at top universities and programs around the country. These placements begin this summer or fall 2022.
CPH recognizes and congratulates:
- Esther Annan, who will teach and advance her research in dengue fever, malaria and other mosquito-borne infectious diseases through Princeton’s prestigious global health program.
- Anna Galvin, MSN, RN, who will embark on a Postdoctoral Fellowship and Research-Track Assistant Professor position at the Cizik School of Nursing, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, UTHealth branch, Department of Research. Galvin will be engaging in research, co-teaching and service.
- Epidemiology PhD graduate Ashvita Garg, who has accepted a postdoctoral research fellowship position with Hollings Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). At the forefront of cancer research, MUSC is one of 71 such designated cancer centers in the nation and the only one in South Carolina.
- Cassidy LoParco, who has accepted a postdoctoral research fellowship position with George Washington University (GWU). GWU is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top two #11 schools of public health in the country, tied with Yale. LoParco will continue working on substance use prevention and harm reduction research under the mentorship of GWU distinguished tobacco control expert Dr. Carla Berg, who serves as Professor of Prevention and Community Health at the Milken College of Public Health and Associate Center Director for Population Sciences and Policy for the GW Cancer Center.
- Jonathan Moore, who will work in a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship program with the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Idaho) Medical Education Program at the University of Idaho, representing a partnership between the school and the University of Washington School of Medicine. WWAMI faculty include innovative scientists and physicians working together toward improved health outcomes and healthier communities.
- Noah Peeri, who is off to a postdoctoral research fellowship program with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, one of the world’s leading institutions in patient care, research and education. His fellowship will focus on cancer epidemiology research as relates to health disparities among minority, racial and ethnic populations.
