Kaeli Johnson is a PhD student, going into her 3rd year in the department of Health Behavior and Health Systems. She uses theory-based mixed-methods approaches in her research on maternal and child health topics. Kaeli has a particular interest in breastfeeding disparities among Black women and sexual health disparities in the Black community.

Kaeli will serve as one of the ASPPH This is Public Health (TIPH) ambassadors for the 2023-2024 year. Through this program, Kaeli will increase awareness about Public Health through student recruitment and engagement, using virtual events, outreach to undergraduate and high school students, and raising awareness through TIPH social media. She will also have the opportunity to network and engage with the community through the TIPH ambassador program, bringing wider attention to the College of Public Health and UNTHSC.
