Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) –
MGMA is the membership association for professional administrators and leaders of medical group practices. Since 1926, MGMA has delivered networking, professional education and resources and political advocacy for medical practice management. MGMA serves 21,500 members who lead 13,700 organizations nationwide in which some 275,000 physicians provide more than 40 percent of the healthcare services delivered in the United States. Its diverse membership comprises administrators, CEOs, physicians in management, board members, office manager and many other management professionals. They work in medical practices and ambulatory care organizations of all sizes and types, including integrated systems and hospital- and medical school-affiliated practices
American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE) –
ACMPE is the standard-setting and certification body of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), promotes the professional growth of leaders. ACMPE was established in 1956 as an affiliate of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) to provide board certification, self-assessment and leadership development for medical practice executives.
Institute of Healthcare Improvement:
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is an independent not-for-profit organization helping to lead the improvement of health care throughout the world. Founded in 1991 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, IHI works to accelerate improvement by building the will for change, cultivating promising concepts for improving patient care, and helping health care systems put those ideas into action.
Institute for Healthcare and Improvement (IHI) Open School:
The IHI Open School for Health Professions is an interprofessional educational community that gives students the skills to become change agents in health care improvement. These are skills like quality improvement, patient safety, teamwork, leadership, and patient-centered care. The IHI Open School courses are open and free for students, residents and university faculty who are teaching courses. Open School currently offers online courses in the areas of quality improvement, patient safety, and leadership. Each course takes an hour to 90 minutes to complete and consists of several lessons taking 15-20 minutes each.
National Committee for Quality Assurance:
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and manages the evolution of HEDIS®, the tool the nation’s health plans use to measure and report on their performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information through the Web, media and data licensing agreements in order to help consumers, employers and others make more informed health care choices.
Association of University Programs in Health Administration:
AUPHA is a global network of colleges, universities, faculty, individuals and organizations dedicated to the improvement of health care delivery through excellence in Health Administration Education. Our membership includes the premier Baccalaureate and Masters degree programs in Health Administration Education in the United States and Canada. Our faculty and individual members represent more than 230 colleges, universities, and health care organizations.
