WHY DID YOU CHOOSE UNTHSC SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH?
I chose this school because I really enjoyed my virtual Q&A session that I had to get to know faculty and staff at the school. Every interaction leading up to deciding on UNTHSC was friendly, kind, and informative. UNTHSC is also a really diverse school with students from all over the world contributing their perspectives to Public Health, which was also really appealing in my decision-making process.

HOW DO YOU PLAN ON APPLYING THE KNOWLEDGE YOU GAIN TO YOUR FUTURE CAREER?
I hope to work in healthcare within a more regulatory/environmental impact role. I am learning a lot of skills in data management, analysis, and visualization that I will definitely use in these fields. I’ve also enjoyed going into depth into how the history of our healthcare system and understanding how the U.S. healthcare has evolved into what it is today. This understanding has really helped me to be passionate about health literacy, as our systems are complex and everyone should be able to have access to the knowledge in order to advocate for themselves. Classes have definitely fueled my passion to work at the population level in healthcare, instead of just prioritizing individual patient-care.
