New data storage and backup solution in Core Labs

Core Labs with the help from IT has implemented a new cloud storage system for backup and data transfer. This system will allow researchers to store and share large amounts of data securely, while also providing robust backup and recovery capabilities. One of the major benefits of the new cloud storage system is its ability to handle extremely large datasets. This will be particularly useful for Core Labs' researchers who often work with large amounts of data generated in Genomics and Pre-clinical Imaging Cores.

The cloud storage system will also improve the security of data storage and sharing with user access controls. The new cloud storage system has already been integrated with Core Lab's existing data, to ensure seamless data flow and backup. Core Labs hopes this upgrade will significantly improve the efficiency of user data management and increase researchers' productivity and accessibility to their data.

The researcher’s lab folder can be accessed by going to

Windows - \\hsc.ad.unt.edu\data\CoreLabs

iOS - smb://hsc.ad.unt.edu/data/CoreLabs

The storage system is accessible while on campus or when connected to VPN using HSC credentials (UN as unthsc\euid and PW) from anywhere for our current users. New users can request access to the server by emailing us at researchcorelabs@unthsc.edu.
