Foundation Scholarships

UNTHSC Foundation offers over 125 scholarship opportunities annually to students of The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. Scholarship awards are based on academic excellence, achievement, leadership, goals and/or other factors. The 2023-2024 General Scholarship Application opens March 1st and close on June 1st.

Terms and Conditions for UNTHSC Foundation Scholarships

Applications for all UNTHSC Foundation Scholarships must be submitted in the Awards Management System for consideration.

All scholarships are set up with specific criteria set forth in the award offer letter and will be awarded only to applicants that meet criteria. Questions about or requests for changes to criteria must be directed in writing to the UNTHSC Foundation at foundation@unthsc.edu.

No use may violate the criteria of the award or the intent of the donor who established the Scholarship. The decision to approve a change of use lies solely with the UNTHSC Foundation.

Awards are posted to the student’s EIS account at least two weeks prior to the first day of classes for the fall semester programs. For those programs that start before the fall semester those awards will be posted by August 31st. All awards are posted to student’s account with a hold and will be transmitted after the census date to pay an account balance or be refunded to student.

The preferred method of transmitting Foundation funds to students is through the Financial Aid system. In certain cases (i.e. scholarship criteria require, recipients attending partner institutions) the Foundation will write a check to a student or to the institution the student is attending to be applied to the student’s account.

Payment of the award is the limit of the UNTHSC Foundation’s obligation, and the UNTHSC Foundation has no obligation or liability to provide or further support to the scholarship recipient.

Renewal Policy

Some scholarships are renewable for subsequent semesters or years. Students are informed at the time of application whether their scholarship is renewable. It is the responsibility of the student to submit the appropriate and necessary documentation on time. Reminders will be generated through the Awards Management System.
