Clinical Cancer Research Scholars (CCRS)
Clinical Cancer Research Scholars (CCRS) is one of the program components of the HSC Scholars in Cancer Research Program offered to Masters level students. This program aims to train the students at the next critical transition point of undergraduate to graduate school. The CCRS program will prepare clinical research management (CRM) trainees, particularly from underrepresented minority (URM) groups, to choose careers in clinical cancer research related to clinical trials management and clinical research.
The CCRS Scholars will be provided with a broad-based view of the biomedical sciences, as well as in depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (CFR, GCP), ethical issues, both the medical writing and administrative skills necessary to conduct clinical research. Candidates for the degree complete a Clinical Research Internship Practicum, the latter substituting for a thesis requirement and also participate in an inter-professional education (IPE) activity.
