Differences in health and health risks exist across race and ethnicity, age, gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and many other dimensions. Courses in the Health Disparities Signature Program focus on mitigating health disparities through education on the theoretical framework of health disparities from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Research Framework.  The Health Disparities Microcredential allows learners to document competence in creating positive changes that decrease the health disparities that can be perpetuated by inequitable or unfair differences in individual and community health dictated by adverse social determinants.
