Emergency training for first responders
By Jeff Carlton
UNT Health Science Center has an emergency preparedness training exercise scheduled for Saturday, September 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at its Patient Care Center, located at 855 Montgomery Street.
The exercise is designed to help safety and law enforcement personnel at the Health Science Center – and first responders with the City of Fort Worth – better prepare in the event of an emergency. UNTHSC’s Safety Office and Police Department are leading the training session in collaboration with Texas Christian University, MedStar and Fort Worth’s police and fire departments.
This is National Emergency Preparedness Month, and the exercise is part of UNTHSC’s broader effort to work with educational and public safety partners to keep our campus and community safe.
The Patient Care Center, its parking garage and the immediate perimeter will be closed and inaccessible on Saturday. The rest of the campus and all other parking garages and lots will be open as usual.
Anyone on or near the UNTHSC campus on Saturday should expect to see uniformed police and fire personnel, other first responders and emergency vehicles.
