Forty-six UNT Health Science Center physicians have been recognized as Top Doctors, as selected by their peers for listings in Texas Monthly, Fort Worth Magazine and 360 West.

Three UNTHSC physicians from Geriatrics have been recognized as Super Doctors by Texas Monthly. In addition, two physicians from Family Medicine were named Rising Stars by the magazine.

Those honored include Janice Knebl, DO, MBA, Professor of Geriatrics; Alvin Mathe, DO, Assistant Professor of Geriatrics and Sarah Ross, DO, Assistant Professor of Geriatrics. They were selected as top doctors by the magazine and the independent research of MSP Communications.

Selection is based on peer recognition, professional achievement and disciplinary history. Only 5 percent of Texas physicians are named Super Doctors.

The magazine also named Didi Ebert-Blackburn, DO, and Ryan Seals, DO, both from Family Medicine, as Rising Stars. Doctors named as Rising Stars are selected on the same criteria as Super Doctors but have been actively practicing for 10 years or less. Only 2.5 percent of physicians in Texas are selected as Rising Stars.
