Perhaps it was love at first sight when, as medical students, Sheila saw Ray perform in TCOM’s infamous air band “A.T. Still and the Spinulators” at orientation. It might have seemed like a non-starter when he said he would meet her at the Christmas Ball, but didn’t show up until the very end.  Yet, 32 years and 5 kids later, this DO couple is a force in osteopathic medicine.

As physicians, Sheila and Ray Page have been a dynamic duo in supporting each other in advancing healthcare, healing lives, and encouraging osteopathic students to become confident and dedicated physicians.

Dr. Sheila Page is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy. She treats a wide spectrum of patients, many with irreversible and terminal illnesses whose burden of care is difficult and who have been given little hope for a better quality of life.  She is the founding Chair of the Fort Worth Osteopathic Study Group and President of District II of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association and has served on multiple committees and as a past board member with TOMA.

She currently serves as the Founding President of the Texas Chapter of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons and serves on the national board of directors. She has a penchant for the sanctity of life and is an Associate Scholar with the Charlotte Lozier Institute. She is an international expert witness on the topic of pain perception in the developing human, emphasizing the concept of structure and function in the development of physiological systems.

Dr. Ray Page, TCOM’s second DO/PhD graduate, is a board-certified medical oncologist and is President and Director of Research at The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Fort Worth. Dr. Page has many accomplishments and accolades and has a passion for advancing the highest quality of patient care, offering experimental cancer therapies from clinical trials, fostering education, and forging policy through advocacy.

He has been passionate about integrity in medical care and research and hopes to ignite this same enthusiasm in future DOs. He has served many leadership roles in several medical societies, including American Society of Clinical Oncology, where he recently was awarded the prestigious designation of Fellow of ASCO, which only a handful of osteopaths have achieved.

Dr. Ray Page is one of only a few osteopathic physicians serving as a Delegate to the American Medical Association, while at the same time Sheila has served as a Delegate for the American Osteopathic Association. They are a unique physician husband/wife delegate team devoted to shaping major policies that impact healthcare. They affirm that active Society engagement is extremely important in order to protect and advance the osteopathic profession and preserve the physician-patient relationship. For many years, Drs. Sheila and Ray Page have served as role models for aspiring osteopathic students and residents.

It all certainly makes for interesting dinner table conversations.
