Awasthis, Simpkins are Brilliant Minds

Fort Worth Texas magazine took note of two of the Health Science Center’s rising stars when it featured Dr. James Simpkins, Dr. Sanjay Awasthi and Dr. Yogesh Awasthi as three of Fort Worth’s most brilliant minds. The Awasthis were recognized for their work in the fight to cure cancer through research on an elusive transfer protein called RLIP76.

Dr. Simpkins’ pursuit of hormone therapy in the treatment of women with Alzheimer’s disease was highlighted, as well. Early estrogen replacement is the key, according to Simpkins.
