Built environment expert featured at 7th Annual North Texas Health Forum

For more than 35 years, Dan Burden, Co-Founder and Director of Innovation and Inspiration for the non-profit Walkable and Livable Communities Institute, has traveled the world to make it a healthier place.

A nationally recognized authority on walkable, livable, healthy and sustainable communities, Burden will be the keynote speaker at this year’s 7th Annual North Texas Health Forum on Thursday, April 10, at UNT Health Science Center.

His keynote address will focus on “The Impact of Lifestyle and the Built Environment on Health,” with a specific look at Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

Attendees at this interactive, two-day public health conference will also will learn more about the local Blue Zones Initiative for a healthier Fort Worth and participate in small group workshops to make community recommendations on the effort.  The event concludes on Friday, April 11.

The North Texas Health Forum is presented annually by UNTHSC’s School of Public Health as part of National Public Health Week.

Burden has been called one of the Top 100 Urban Thinkers of all time by Planetizen, a public-interest information exchange for urban planning, design and development. He is credited with personally helping 3,500 communities around the world become more livable and walkable.
