City of Fort Worth Recognizes TCOM during National Osteopathic Medicine Week
The City of Fort Worth recognized the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine on Tuesday with a proclamation celebrating National Osteopathic Medicine Week. TCOM Dean Dr. Frank Filipetto, along with first-year students Saanji Desai and Alex Frangenberg received the proclamation from City Council Member Dennis Shingleton, who recognized the impact of osteopathic medicine on the health care system.
“We are so proud to have TCOM as part of our community and it is my honor to declare April 18-24 as National Osteopathic Medicine week in the City of Fort Worth,” said Shingleton.
Shingleton also thanked the students for volunteering their support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic with testing and vaccination sites throughout the city.
Dr. Filipetto thanked the Mayor and City Council for the proclamation and the City’s continued partnership with TCOM and The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.
“I’m very grateful and thankful for the support that Fort Worth has given TCOM throughout the years and this is a wonderful honor,” said Dr. Filipetto.
