Faculty honored for contributions
President Scott Ransom recognized 66 outstanding UNTHSC faculty members for their contributions to education, research and clinical care on January 19. Awards were based on such criteria as 2011 student satisfaction scores, patient satisfaction scores, extramural research funding, publications and faculty evaluations. In addition, the top six faculty members (two each in education, research, and clinical care categories) received special recognition:

The President’s Faculty Awards are intended to recognize and promote the best and brightest faculty of the UNT Health Science Center.
In addition, recognition went to two of the 66, Joseph Yuan, PhD, who received the President’s Promising Researcher of Excellence Award, and Meharvan (Sonny) Singh, who received the President’s Research Educator Award.
