HSC hires vice provost of enrollment management

Darrius HeadshotDr. Darrius Douglas recently was named vice provost of enrollment management at The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.

He most recently served as dean of enrollment management at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Ill., and will start his new role July 29.

Douglas brings more than 21 years of experience providing strategic policy development and leadership to the delivery of student services, enrollment management, financial aid and enrollment marketing. In the newly created role of vice provost of enrollment management at HSC, he will focus on strategic planning while overseeing admissions, recruitment, financial aid and the registrar’s office. The position was created as part of HSC’s larger strategic enrollment plan.

“We are all very excited to have Dr. Douglas lead enrollment management for HSC and drive our strategic enrollment plan,” said Dr. Trisha Van Duser, senior vice provost at HSC. “His proven track record and expertise in strategic enrollment, data analysis and customer relationship management will be an incredible asset to our institution and help propel HSC toward future growth and expansion.”

During his tenure at DuPage, Douglas was responsible for a 5% increase in year-over-year spring enrollment and secured a leading sponsorship with Amazon’s Career Choice Program. He has also held enrollment management leadership roles at the New York Film Academy and the Tulane University School of Social Work.

While at Tulane, his team produced the largest incoming class in the School of Social Work’s history, increased full-time enrollment by 32% and grew out-of-state enrollment by

44%. He developed the inaugural strategic recruitment and retention plans for the school, resulting in a 37% increase in enrollment and 29% increase in transfer student enrollment over a two-year period.

Douglas holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change, and a Master of Science in Information Systems Project Management from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from DePaul University.
