HSC Pediatric Mobile Clinic surpasses 10,000 patient encounters
By Kathryn Lytton
Since 2014, HSC’s Pediatric Mobile Clinic has provided critical health care resources to underserved children in Fort Worth. Traveling to neighborhoods across the city, the mobile clinic offers wellness visits, school/sports physicals, immunizations, screenings and education at no cost to families.
Without the services provided by the Pediatric Mobile Clinic, these children would have limited access to health care due to barriers such as transportation or lack of insurance. These hurdles often go hand in hand with other challenges such as food insecurity and lack of access to other necessities for child to thrive.
Along with a pediatrician, licensed vocational nurse and other medical staff, the Pediatric Mobile Clinic has a social worker on board to assist patients in navigating and accessing services available to address their needs beyond immediate health care.
While the Pediatric Mobile Clinic provides care for a wide range of issues, there is a focus on improving the quality of health for children through preventative care and health education. This brings intervention early on to patients highest at risk.
Through this partnership, HSC is breaking down barriers by delivering health care in underserved areas. HSC cannot do our work without your help! Please donate to the Pediatric Mobile Clinic and help improve health care access for your fellow Texans.
