Join prominent UNTHSC alumnus for the Brain Tumor Walk this weekend

Students, staff, faculty and community members are invited to join UNT Health Science Center alumnus Dr. Rob Dickerman on Saturday at the Dallas-Ft. Worth Brain Tumor Walk.

The annual 5K in Fort Worth raises awareness and resources to improve the lives of people impacted by brain tumors, which kill almost 15,000 people a year.

Dr. Dickerman, DO (TCOM ’98), PhD, a neurosurgeon at North Texas Brain and Spine Institute in Plano, is one of the sponsors of the event and will have a booth where he will answer questions from attendees.

Dr. Dickerman is supporting the team for the event created by “Psycho” Shanon Murphy, a radio personality on the 106.1 Kiss FM Morning Show and brain tumor survivor.  Participants are welcome to join her team named Bruce Willis Sucks.

Patients with brain tumors travel from across the U.S. to get treatment from Dr. Dickerman, one of the premier neurosurgeons in the nation.

“I see the impact a brain tumor has on the lives of patients,” Dr. Dickerman said. “I hope everyone will join me for this great event and raise awareness for this issue.”
