McFadden joins Horsman in co-chairing annual golf tournament
Two of HSC’s biggest supporters have teamed up to raise scholarship money for employees and their dependents.
Pam McFadden, who retired in 2018 after 25 years of leadership at HSC, will for the first time join Rand Horsman as honorary co-chairs of the Horsman McFadden Golf Tournament on May 17.
Horsman created the annual tournament in 2001 that benefits employees and their dependents by providing college tuition scholarships of $1,000. Since 2013, more than 140 scholarships have been fulfilled on behalf of the program, allowing recipients to continue their education and achieve their goals.
“I am pleased that Pam is being recognized for her contributions to the scholarship supporting Health Science Center team members,” Horsman said. “Pam has been an ardent supporter of the scholarship efforts since the beginning. Like me, she thinks that helping others achieve their educational goal provides them the opportunity to enhance their life. We also both strongly believe in the mission of the HSC.”
During his 25 years of leadership in the HSC Human Resources department, Horsman was held in high esteem by students, faculty, and staff. In 2020, he received the HSC Founder’s Medal for his significant contributions to the University.
HSC honors McFadden and Horsman for their vision and support of helping HSC team members and their dependents achieve their educational dreams.
