A team of UNT Health Science Center physician assistant students captured the top prize at the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants Challenge Bowl.
Students Lauren Atwood, Kristi Harring and Camille Jones won the Challenge Bowl on Feb. 25 during the Academy’s annual conference in San Antonio. Atwood and Harring are class of 2017 students and Jones is class of 2019.
The medical quiz competition features brackets where teams of students from schools across Texas field questions and hit buzzers to submit answers during the friendly competition.
PA student Bethany Krawietz, a Health Science Center student representative to TAPA, organized the teams that competed for the Health Science Center.
Three other teams of Health Science Center students also competed and each one advanced beyond the first round. Those teams were:
- Emily Bengston, Taylor Runeberg and Bryttin Boyde
- Hailey Armstrong, Jamie Dorth and Dani Lutes
- Kathryn Thomas, Stephanie Heliot and Samantha Morgan
“I’m very proud of the four teams that participated and their school spirit representing the Health Science Center,” said Thomas Diver, Assistant Professor of Physician Assistant Studies.
Health Science Center PA students also won the Challenge Bowl in 2015 and 2014.
