Schmoozing with a purpose

Faculty from the School of Public Health (SPH), Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Texas Prevention Institute took networking to a new level when they recently hosted a UNT Health Science Center "Research Schmooze" at Mama’s Pizza.

Almost 30 professors connected to discuss their research interests and opportunities for collaboration on future projects and grant proposals.

A method for bringing faculty together for partnership building across schools and departments, Research Schmooze is modeled after a similar program from the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS at Yale University, Yale School of Public Health.

"It’s like a professional version of speed dating," said Robyn Remotique, CRA, SPH Research Services Manager. "The objective is basically the same, to find a partner for that perfect match."
