Tcom Class Of 2022

The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2022 earned the highest score in the nation on the COMLEX-USA Level 1 national board exam for future osteopathic physicians.

The score is the highest among all osteopathic medical schools across the country and the third time in the last four years TCOM has ranked first.

“Our students set very high goals and their performance on these board exams are proof of their talent, hard-work, and preparation,” said Dr. Frank Filipetto, Everett Endowed Professor and Dean of TCOM. “This also speaks to the high caliber of our curriculum, the faculty, and our staff who have made TCOM one of the best programs in the nation. I’m extremely proud of what the Class of 2022 has accomplished.”

The student’s average test score of 562.6 was well above the national mean of 529.89 on the exam, which was administered by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. The Class of 2022 has 234 students, now in their fourth-year of medical school.

“This class encountered multiple challenges related to COVID and testing availability,” said Dr. Ryan Seals, Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at TCOM. “I am proud of their performance, but am even more proud of the character and perseverance they have displayed during this last year.”

TCOM’s Class of 2020 also had the highest average on the COMLEX-USA Level 1 and Level 2, while the Class of 2019 had the highest score for COMLEX-USA Level 1 and the second-highest average on COMLEX Level 2.
