Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM) now has 150 students matched into residency or internship positions. The National Residency Matching Program (NRMP), which coordinates the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) match, placed 110 TCOM students in residency or internship positions.

According to the NRMP, this was the largest Match in history: 30,543 applicants participated-655 more than last year. Students and graduates from osteopathic schools made up 2,045 of the applicants. The 2010 Match offered a record-number 22,809 first-year and 2,711 second-year residency positions. More than 95 percent of the first-year positions were filled during this Match.

Forty other TCOM students were matched through the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) earlier in the year, which included those matched to military residency programs. Of the 150 TCOM students matched for residency, 95 are going into primary care and 83 will stay in Texas.
