Venegas-Rios Named Top Doctoral Student in Biostatistics at UNT Health Science Center

Heidi Venegas-Rios, MS, was named the outstanding doctoral student of public health in biostatistics at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Veriegas-Rios is a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and currently resides in Arlington. She is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences with bachelor of science and master of science degrees.

Upon graduation in summer 2007 with a doctorate in public health, Venegas-Rios plans to pursue a career in research and academia.

Venegas-Rios received the award at the School of Public Healthâ??s annual awards banquet on May 5.
