Lewis Latarra 2

LaTarra Lewis, MHA

Director of Enrollment and Records & Registrar

Bio

LaTarra “LT” Lewis earned her A.S. degree in Chemistry from Garden City Community College in Garden City, Kansas, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. She, later on, completed her Master of Healthcare Administration from Kaplan University and completed courses toward her Master of Business Administration as well. Before joining the Registrar and Student Records Office in November 2014, LaTarra worked in Higher Education in the proprietary sector in which she excelled in many different roles, the latter being a Career Services Advisor. Her daily encounter with students of various backgrounds and socio-economic statuses fueled her desire to help others appreciate education and help them achieve their career goals.

Courtney Jones

Assistant Director of Enrollment and Records

Bio

Courtney Jones graduated with her Associate of Arts Degree from Tarrant County College in 2018. Throughout her college career she interned at a DFW financial firm where she worked closely with maintaining client files and answering office phone calls. She began her Higher Education Career with HSC in the Division of Student and Academic Affairs – Registrar and Student Records Office in 2018. In her current role, she focuses on managing the HSC Catalog, and processing student academic records, and student enrollment requests. Courtney enjoys the opportunity HSC brings to serve others on a daily basis and helping students achieve their greatest goals.

Amanda Houdashell

Assistant Director of Enrollment and Records

Bio

Amanda Houdashell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Cappella University, and a Master of Science in Communications from Walden University.  Education has always been an aspect of her life as she comes from a family of educators from elementary to college.  In her higher education journey, she has worked as a professor, advisor, and has now joined the Registrar and Student Records Office.  Education should be a journey that everyone strives for and Amanda wants to help students be successful to complete that journey!

Jessica Martinez

Jessica Martinez

Enrollment Services Coordinator

Bio

Jessica received her degree in Family Studies from Texas Woman’s University in 2017. Following graduation, she worked for a local DFW charter school network as a Community Engagement and Enrollment Specialist. Her time at a charter school allowed her to work closely with families on enrollment for each new school year. Jessica made the move to higher education recently in November of 2020 by joining the Division of Student and Academic Affairs in the Registrar and Student Records Office at UNTHSC. In her current role, she assists with processing student academic records and student enrollment requests. Jessica is delighted to have joined the Registrar and Student Records team. She enjoys the ability to engage with students by assisting with their needs.

Pamchavez Biopic

Pamela Chavez

Enrollment Services Associate

Bio

Pam received her degree in History with an emphasis in Political Science from Texas Woman’s University (TWU). Pam began her Higher Education Career at TWU’s Financial Aid Office as a Financial Aid Assistant. Throughout her time there she worked closely with students answering any questions pertaining to federal financial aid processes and maintained student records. Before joining HSC in 2022, Pam worked at CVS Pharmacy as a Customer Health Care Concierge. In this role, she was able to assist customers by helping them navigate healthcare services and products within the HealthHub. In her current role, she focuses on helping the Registrar and Student Records Office monitor, maintain and oversee student and alumni records. Pam recently returned to higher education because she missed helping students achieve their educational goals and looks forward to doing so at HSC.

Tania Brown

Enrollment Services Associate

Bio

Tania earned her B.A. degree in English from Texas Christian University. Throughout her college career, Tania worked in TCU’s Financial Aid Office, maintaining student financial aid records. After graduation, Tania provided written communications, HR, and administrative services across several sectors, including for-profit organizations, non-profits, and a municipality. In 2023, she was delighted to come full circle, as she returned to higher education by joining the HSC Registrar and Student Records team. In her current role, Tania assists with managing and maintaining student records. She strives to protect the organization and HSC students by doing things “by the book.” As a watercolor artist, Tania enjoys releasing beauty into her world; she also enjoys encouraging others as they pursue their dreams and goals.

Valarie French

Enrollment Services Assistant

Bio

Valarie French received her Associates in Sociology while obtaining her Bachelors degree in Health Science in 2012 from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.  After a history of working in the health care field as a medical assistant, front office representative, front office coordinator in a variety of medical offices, Valarie would start a career in the education field. Valarie started her career in elementary education with Wichita Public Schools as a reading intervention para, then a daily sub and finally a permanent building substitute teacher for the same school for the last 8 years. Valarie enjoyed this position as it allowed her to build relationships working with all students, families and staff. Valarie made the move to the DFW area, with her move to higher education. She started her higher education career with HSC, in the Registrar and Student Records Office January 2024. In her current role she enjoys greeting all visitors, directing all calls and concerns to the appropriate team member, as well as processing verification, enrollment or any other requests for students and helping with any questions or concerns. Valarie enjoys being a new addition to the team, and continues to enjoy engaging with staff and students, assisting with the needs of both.
