Guidance for External Collaborators
Research Conflict of Interest (RCOI) disclosure ensures that the people of the State of Texas may have complete confidence in the integrity of their public servants and demonstrate adherence to the highest ethical standards and principles of higher education staff and associated community members.
If you are collaborating on a research project/grant with an HSC investigator, however you yourself are not affiliated with HSC (i.e., you are not a faculty, staff, or student of HSC), this page will provide you guidance on completing the HSC RCOI Disclosure process (training and disclosure form).
Note: If you are currently affiliated with another institution which has its own Conflict of Interest (COI) process, please confirm with the HSC Office of Sponsored Programs regarding whether or not you are able to use the COI process from your home institution.
As an external HSC collaborator, please complete the following:
1. Please complete the “UNT Research Conflict of Interest” training, within the CITI website. You will need to register with CITI (if you do not already have an account) and affiliate with University of North Texas Health Science Center in order to complete the training. The link to CITI can be found here. (For instructions on accessing the “UNT Research Conflict of Interest” training in CITI, please click here.)
2. To complete the HSC RCOI Disclosure form, please click here. (Throughout the completion of your RCOI Disclosure form, you will have guidance on what should be disclosed and what does not need to be disclosed.)
If you have any questions in regard to completing the RCOI CITI training or the HSC RCOI disclosure form, please contact the HSC Research Compliance Office at research.compliance@unthsc.edu.
