The College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences at HSC is proud to announce the Dr. Martin Farias III Memorial Lectureship series.

The lectureship honors Martin Farias III, Ph.D., who graduated from CBTS in 2002. While at HSC, Dr. Farias helped co-found HSC’s Society for the Advancement of Latinos in Science student group. This organization later affiliated with a national organization and became the HSC chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS).

The lectureship will continue the legacy of Dr. Farias by inviting experts in the broad field of equity and inclusion in health and biomedical sciences to HSC to share their research and expertise with our faculty, staff, and students.

Dr. Farias left a lasting impact on the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences and our students, and we are thrilled to honor his memory with this lectureship.
