During your first year, we provide opportunities for you to engage meaningfully with different aspects of campus life at the HSC.
We want to ensure that you are introduced to student success resources and make sure that you can make the most of them.
HSC first-year students will receive information on the risks faced by graduate health professional students. You will also be introduced to the resources and tools we have in place to help you stay healthy and well.
From note taking to reading, academic writing, to studying for exams, there is a set of academic skills that you will need to be successful in your graduate studies. FYE opportunities are designed to help you develop and hone these skills.
The FYE Peer Mentorship Program assists in the successful transition of new students to HSC by partnering them with enthusiastic second-year students who function as role models and connections to resources on campus.
We want you to feel a sense of belonging on our campus and know that you are a contributing factor to making our community great. You should feel ownership over your college experience, and the components of the first-year experience will help embrace your individuality and find your place at HSC.
