Richards College
Richards College is named after David M. Richards, D.O. Dr. Richards served as president of the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1986-1993 and oversaw the institution’s transition from a free-standing medical school to an academic health science center. Dr. Richards served as the first president of the newly formed University of North Texas Health Science Center atFort Worth from 1993-1999.
During his tenure as president, the medical school and health science center underwent a tremendous expansion, adding the CCollege of Biomedical and Translational Sciences, the School of Public Health, and the physician assistant studies program. In addition to the growth in academic programs, the health science center became the fastest growing research program in the state.
The Medical Student Government Association created the D.M. Richards Endowed Scholarship upon his retirement in 1999. Dr. Richards currently resides in Ohio.

Dr. Meaghan Nelsen is originally from New York and graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Master’s degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine as well as a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology in New Jersey and went on to practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After three years in practice, she went on to a Fellowship in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at Southampton Hospital in New York. She is now the only physician in the country maintaining dual Board certifications in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine. Dr. Nelsen is dedicated to training the next generation of osteopathic physicians at UNTHSC-TCOM where she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and the Year 2 OMM Course Director. In addition to Women’s Health services, Dr. Nelsen specializes in providing osteopathic manipulation for women, infants and children.

Dr. Beeson is a Vice Provost over Academic Partnerships and Initiatives for University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth and an Assistant Professor in Medical Education at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Beeson also serves as the Medical Director and a Medical Team Manager for Texas Task Force, the State’s Search and Rescue Teams. With almost 30 years of experience working in Public Safety and Population Health, he started his career as an Emergency Medical Technician working in rural Texas and progressed to become a Paramedic and Registered Nurse working in Emergency Departments and with Air Medical Flight programs across Texas. He completed his medical training at TCOM and his Emergency Medicine Residency at Parkland in Dallas. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services through the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Beeson serves on the Board of Directors for the Texas EMS and Trauma Acute Care Foundation, National Association of EMS Physicians, and is a Governor Abbott appointee to the Texas Correctional Managed Health Care Committee. Dr. Beeson has lived in the Fort Worth area for over 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoys rebuilding vintage Landcrusers and working in his shop.
Michael D. Carletti, DO

Dr. Carletti is a magna cum laude graduate of Texas Christian University (TCU) with a degree in Mathematics as well as a degree in Chemistry. Following TCU, he graduated medical school from the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) – Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed his Transitional Internship at Plaza Medical Center – Ft Worth where served as the Chief Intern. Dr. Carletti then served as an active duty Flight Surgeon in the United States Air Force (USAF) for 8 years where he completed multiple deployments to include providing aeromedical evacuation of patients from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. In his last assignment with the USAF, he was selected as the team physician for the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron known as the US Air Force “Thunderbirds” from 2012-2014. Following his military service, Dr. Carletti completed his dermatology residency at the UNTHSC in Ft Worth where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Carletti practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology ranging from diagnosing and treating skin cancers to performing neuromodulator injections. He is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at HSC and is the Assistant Program Director of the Medical City Weatherford Dermatology Residency Program.
Dr. Carletti is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology, Fort Worth Dermatological Society, and Texas Dermatological Society.
Kellee Randle DO

Dr. Randle is a 2010 graduate of the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC)-Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She completed her residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Randle returned to the DFW Metroplex as a hospitalist and has practiced for the largest hospital systems in the area. She is currently working in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
In 2018 Dr. Randle was inducted as a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) for her contributions to field of Internal Medicine. She is a conference speaker and collaborator with ACOI. A few of her topics include improving compliance in the hospitalized patient and unconscious bias. She is also a member of the ACGME DEI Officers Forum, a group of educators and clinicians focused on increasing equity and inclusion for medical students and residents.
Since joining the HSC, Dr. Randle has worked with first-year students their physical examination skills. As an Associate Professor, Dr. Randle is committed to ensuring the next generation of osteopathic physicians are prepared to provide excellent medical care for an ever-changing, diverse world.
When not engaged in patient care, Dr. Randle enjoys traveling, live music, physical fitness, sports, and spending time with her family.
Saj Surve, DO

Dr. Surve is a 2005 graduate of the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, and holds board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation and osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine. He has also completed certificates of added qualification in pain medicine and was trained in medical acupuncture through the Helms Medical Institute. He has over a decade of experience as a Performing Arts Medicine clinician. He apprenticed under Richard M. Bachrach, DO, FAOASM, the renowned PAM physician in Manhattan, New York, and set up both dance and music medicine clinics during his time on faculty at the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine. Since joining the UNTHSC team in 2014, Dr. Surve has served as Co-Director of the UNT Texas Center for Performing Arts Health, and become the preeminent performing arts medicine provider for the DFW Metroplex, treating performers of all disciplines and skill levels. He is also the music medicine provider for the UNT College of Music. Dr. Surve is interested in musculoskeletal injury management and prevention in the performing arts population, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
