The July Valubility of the Month recipients are all dedicated individuals who make practicing our values a way of life every day.
Dr. Sajid Surve is known for getting things done on time and in a professional manner without sacrificing patience, kindness and compassion. Catherine Mobley has an innate ability to read the emotions of others so she can better help them. Nancy Garcia works hard every day but always makes time to brighten the lives of everyone she meets. Dr. Lawrence Cohen is a natural leader whose quiet acts of kindness epitomize our values.
These recipients of the Valubility of the Month honor were selected from among dozens of nominees that a UNTHSC committee read through.
Congratulations to our teammates.

Sajid Surve, DO, OMMWhen patients, students or co-workers talk, Dr. Sajid Surve listens. Then he does something about it, whether that means relieving their pain, resolving a concern or meeting another need. The physician known for his fedora and warm sense of humor is dedicated to helping artists heal through our Texas Center for Performing Arts Health program, but he is equally as concerned with making life a little better for everyone. He’s someone who gets things done, recognizes every individual’s talents and brings a spark of joy to each day. Nominated by Toni Allen. |

Catherine Mobley, Center for Innovative LearningCatherine Mobley has an eye for the smallest detail and a heart for sensing what people need most. That translates to random acts of kindness on and off the job. To show her appreciation to co-workers she’ll treat them to an ice cream bar or buy them bagels. To show her support for the community she donates blood on a regular basis and provides gifts to needy families. In a fast-changing environment she’s been the picture of adaptability and remained open-minded, flexible and patient. Nominated by Dr. Vanneise Collins. |

Nancy Garcia, Facilities ManagementNancy Garcia is one of our hardest workers and embraces such integrity that even when no one is watching, she takes the time to make sure that UNTHSC sparkles. Restrooms never run out of paper towels, sinks always are clean and supplies never run out because of her dedication. As one nominator put it, “I’ve never seen someone with so much pride in her work, even when she’s cleaning a toilet.” Instantly likable, she always greets everyone she meets with a heartfelt hello and a genuine smile. Nominated by Blair Chappell and Darlene Williams. |

As a leading force on the Best Place for All Initiative, he has shown respect for others and encouraged everyone to join in on any discussion. His dedication to making UNTHSC a better place for everyone is clear in the way he treats each person with dignity and respect. Nominated by Courtney Leaverton. |
