About our Logo
In 2018, the UNT System hired the nationally recognized branding expert Carnegie Dartlet to conduct a system-wide brand audit of all its campuses.
The results, gathered over several months, confirmed what Health Science Center leaders already suspected – many people lack a clear understanding of what HSC does and are confused about its relationship with UNT Denton, the system’s largest and oldest institution.
Consultants also canvassed a broad segment of the HSC community to determine how team members view the institution and its public reputation.
Based on the Carnegie Darlet data, our institution updated and revised its brand identity to more accurately reflect our character, mission and purpose. This move also aimed to dispel confusion about the health science center’s location because many people mistakenly believe that HSC is located on our sister campus, UNT Denton.
Today, the HSC brand is a modern, crisp and clean design that represents these realities:
- HSC is a future-focused institution, driven by an innovative spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- It is a proud part of the Fort Worth community.
- It is an essential member of the University of North Texas System, but separate and independent of UNT Denton.
H-S-C. Simple. Distinct. Direct. We are a stand-alone institution. While we are part of a greater whole, we have our own identity, our own mission, our own purpose.
The new logo’s distinctive graphic element – the four-piece cluster represents the pillars that we stand for:
- Whole health
- Community
- Research & Innovation
- People
